M.Sc. [Engineering] in Machinery Design

This course aims to prepare delegates for developing their careers in Mechanical Machinery Design. The course will give delegates capability to design different types of machinery by understanding critical functional and operational requirements. The educational experience enables the delegates to understand and apply state-of-art Computer Aided Engineering tools for design, modelling, simulation, analysis, synthesis and optimisation of machine components and systems.


The M.Sc. (Engg) in Machinery Design Course aims to:

  • > Provide a thorough understanding and applications of the basics and working principles of different types of machinery
  • > Impart the knowledge of critical functional and operational requirements of different types of mechanical machinery
  • > Impart the knowledge of design of different types of mechanical machinery to meet varied functional and operational requirements
  • > Provide a thorough understanding and application of the concepts of design of machinery
  • > Understand and apply state-of-art Computer Aided Engineering tools for design, modelling, simulation, analysis, synthesis and optimisation of machine components and systems
  • > Develop skills for designing machine components and machines with the use of available software
