M.Sc. [Engineering] in Product Design

This course aims to prepare delegates for developing their careers in product design and development of industrial and consumer products. The course will prepare delegates to become creative problem solvers, to understand the needs of stake holders such as customers, manufactures, users and marketers, to understand materials and manufacturing process concerns, to generate and evaluate concepts and prototype. The educational experience enables the delegates to achieve an integrated understanding of product design and development methodology, visualization/ simulation, analysis, synthesis, integration, evaluation, presentation and documentation.

The M.Sc. (Engg) in Product Design Course aims to provide:

• > A thorough understanding of product design and development
• > Ability to understand the context or circumstances of a design problem and frame them at a level of abstraction in an insightful way
• > Ability to model and visualize multiple alternative solutions even with imperfect information
• > Ability to establish purposeful relationships among elements of a solution and between the solution and its context
• > Ability to use form to embody ideas and to communicate their value
