M.Sc. [Engineering] in Commercial and Retail Design
This course aims to prepare students for developing their careers in Commercial and Retail Design. The course will give students capability to understand the requirements of Commercial and Retail Design Industry, developing concepts, schemes, layouts and details of space planning, display systems, visual merchandising, exhibition design and packaging. The educational experience enables the students to achieve an integrated understanding of the software usage and design in the area of Retail Design.
The specific course aims are:
- > Provide an understanding of Commercial and Retail Design, develop creative and innovative concepts, prepare layouts and presentations addressing user needs for retail display.
- > Provide the student with abilities to apply manual and digital tools for planning, design, assembly and display of retail design in commercial spaces.
- > Provide an understanding of design methodology and research tools to identify user needs
- > Develop skills for preparing design brief, layouts, schemes and presentation techniques with the use of manual and digital media.
