M.Sc. [Engineering] in Aircraft Design
The course aims to prepare the students for a career in Aircraft Design. The course will impart to the students the knowledge of the principles and working of various systems that build a modern aircraft. This will give them capability to evaluate specific requirements for aircraft and aircraft systems, analyse these for numerous functional requirements, come up with an engineering design and implement.
IIn the course, analytical and simulation approaches to design will be emphasised, with an exposure to hands-on implementation of designs.
The specific course aims are:
- > To impart to the students, knowledge about the principles and theories of Aircraft Design according to the concurrent needs of the aircraft industry
- > To improve the technical grasp of students in the versatile area of analysis and simulation
- > To impart to the students the knowledge of critical functional and operational requirements for various aircraft systems
- > To make the students capable of converting the customer requirements to viable design specifications
- > To develop the capability, in the students, of analysing the designs using the state of the art simulation programs
- > To develop capability to transfer the designs from concepts and models to the drawings of the physical implementation of the same
