  • Introduction to GAMBIT, geometry creation, edge-face meshing and mesh quality, volume meshing, mesh control through size functions and boundary layer, volume decomposition examples, CAD/CAE data exchange and geometry cleanup, cleanup tools
  • Solver basics, boundary conditions, solver settings, heat transfer, turbulence modeling, multiphase modeling, moving zone models, user defined function, setting up solution parameter monitors
  • Grid adaptation techniques, defining animation, post processing techniques, defining turbo topology, surface creations, export of results
  • Exercises based flow over a cylinder, flow over an aerofoil, turbulent flow, multistage fan, natural convection and radiation in rotating cavities, flow through heat exchanger, combustion of a liquid fuel droplet, flow through muffler, flow through porous media, external aerodynamic flow (3-dimensional flow over an automobile).
  • Case Studies: Flow in a centrifugal compressor, multiphase and unsteady analysis in between gaseous and liquid phase using air and water in a rotating bowl, single and multiple rotating reference frame using co-axial rotating discs and air blower, rotor-stator interface using sliding mesh analogy for steam turbine blade, compressible flow around an airfoil, internal airflow in a passenger car and heat transfer analysis, conductive and convective heat transfer and electronic cooling of computer cabinet, radiative heat transfer using various radiation models.
