Indicative contents

  • CAD: Introduction to CAD/CAM/CAE. The role of CAE systems in contemporary product realization processes. Identify key trends emerging in the disciplines related to CAE that will have substantial influence over the product realization process. Define and describe fundamental computer and networking technologies that are used to deploy CAE (CAD/CAM/CAE) systems. Define fundamental geometric modelling and computer graphics techniques that are used in CAE systems. Use CAE software to create clear, concise, and complete engineering models and documents according to current ISO and ANSI standards. Use three-dimensional CAD techniques to generate wire frame, surface models, and solid models. Define downstream applications that can leverage the CAD geometry database. Define and describe computer-aided prototyping techniques that can be used to enhance design quality and compress the product development cycle. Describe methods that can be used to select appropriate CAD/CAM hardware and software systems based on technical and organizational constraints
  • Reverse Engineering: Reverse engineering processes and applications, techniques and methodologies, accuracy and errors
  • Rapid prototyping: Rapid prototyping systems, tooling, technology, processes and applications.
