Ever since the first transistor was built, the field
of electronics has seen tremendous morphological changes always thriving
to give the best it can. “Unsatisfaction is the mother of innovation”
must have been the adage that people who contributed should have
followed. The birth of a Miracle baby, incidentally named as the
“INTEGRATED CIRCUIT” was the root cause for setting a new trend in the
field of Microelectronics and also for the unprecedented demand enjoyed
by the present day, small, compact and faster electronic devices. Gone
are the days when the engineers required for the designing were limited
as the Moore’s law, which controls the VLSI field, is on the verge of
getting disproved. The ever growing competition among the corporators
has opened up challenging opportunities for the young engineers nursing
a dream of carving niche in the field of IC designing. The phase
difference in the computer simulated circuit and the properly working
piece of silicon is always lagging and that’s what requires an engineer
to be skilled at levels the silicon demands. In view of this, the
programme has been designed.
On completion of the course the delegate may find opportunities in the
field of IC designing as a Digital Designer, FPGA design engineer,
layout design engineer, front end design engineer, verification
engineer, Analog and Mixed design engineer, EDA tool developer etc.,
This course aims:
- To add value to the basic qualification of candidates/delegates
by enhancing their skill levels to meet the industrial requirements.
- To equip the candidates / delegates to execute the design
process by providing knowledge of Front-End design and Back-End
design, to clearly distinguish the challenges in digital and analog
design, FPGAs and interfacing, ASIC design, CMOS circuits, VLSI
Physical Design and verification, VLSI testing, synthesis, formal
verification.
- To keep the delegate abreast with the recent developments and
applications of Micro-electronic Technology.
- To be well versed with industrial standard tools and sign of
tools for VLSI design and verification.
Prerequisites:
Engineering graduates with or without experience; diploma candidates
