About Workshop: Popular games have ruled the
entertainment industry, all aided with the support of technology
that keeps growing with time. However, the production of such games
requires a thorough knowledge of the essential elements required for
building them. This calls in for a robust game design.
“Design a robust game and your game is half done”, very true! Game
is popular only if it is fun-filled, action oriented, eye-grabbing,
well designed and played by the right audience. Game design is an
absolute essential and plays an important role in the overall game
development process. It influences greatly the way games are
marketed and sold. The game design process includes establishing
gameplay, game mechanics, user interface, level design, game art;
all maintained by a well crafted storyline. Designing a robust game
needs building a core team, thorough understanding of the ideal
design process, tools and techniques through case studies and
practicing them while designing variety of games.
The Game Design Workshop is a 2-day course combining lectures, case
studies, hands-on practice and team activities. The workshop is
intended to introduce the game design process to the audience with
gaming passion through a structured course, demonstrating and
practicing creative and technical skills required for game design.
Participants will be divided into teams. Every team will work on a
given concept and build-up a simple game design through successive
sessions by practicing the techniques learnt.

Reality (CGVR) which runs M.Sc.[Engg] course in Computer Animation &
