This course aims to prepare students for developing their careers in Micro Electro Mechanical Systems. The course will give students capability to design and manufacture Micro Electro Mechanical Systems for applications in various domains. The educational experience enables the participants to achieve an integrated understanding of the MEMS design and manufacturing technology and its relation to various application areas.

The specific course aims are:
1. Understand the concept of MEMS and appreciate their applications.
2. Understand the mathematics required for design of MEMS.
3. Apply concepts of control Engineering to Microsystems
4. Understand the fundamentals of FEA and CFD in relation to MEMS
5. Develop skills in use of MEMS Design software and appreciate the advantages and limitations of various design tools.
6. Understand various manufacturing, packaging methods in MEMS
