  • Signal Conversion (10%)
    Sampling basics, conversion requirements for biomedical signals, signal conversion circuits
  • Time and frequency domain techniques (10%):
    The fourier transform, correlation, Convolution, power spectrum estimation, frequency domain analysis of ECG
  • Basics of Digital filtering (10%):
    The z-transform, elements of digital filter, types of digital filter, transfer functions of digital filters, z-plane pole-zero pot.
  • FIR filter (10%):
    Characteristics of FIR filter, smoothing filter, notch filter, window design, frequency sampling, minmax design, FIR filter design
  • IIR filter (10%)
    Equations of IIR filter, simple one-pole example, integrators, design methods for 2-pole filter, IIR filter for ECG analysis
  • Adaptive Filter (10%)
    Principle noise canceller model, 60-Hz noise cancelling using a sine wave model, applications of adaptive filter, 50 Hz adaptive filter
